Aaron

Aaron Slater’s main focus is in materials management and integrating ERP systems with the Toyota Production System at all levels of a company for long term sustainability. While implementing Lean Systems he leads teams to reduce inventory, material shortages, and lead time while increasing on-time delivery, inventory turns, and profits. Regarding materials management, the process typically begins with finished goods sequencing (Heijunka Level Scheduling) which level-loads the plant and shipping. Pull systems are then created for internal suppliers; both batch building processes and one-for-one processes. Creation of conveyance routes for the delivery of material is next. A Plan for Every Part is also essential for the storage of FGs and purchase components. Finally, sequencing of supplier deliveries is coordinated which level-loads the suppliers and receiving docks, while tracking supplier delivery. Aaron executes all of this with ERP systems matching visual systems allowing anyone to see the status of each cell, machine, shipment and delivery of suppliers. Aaron has also worked with clients on current and future state mapping, standard work, glass walls and other TPS tools.  Aaron’s background in Materials Management includes injection molding, die-casting, stamping, machining, assembly, painting, cutting tables, metal forming, plating, heat treating, fiberglass, wood laminating, dimensional lumber, saw mills, corrugated packaging, food packaging and printing.
